Looking for opinions regarding using a lower end inkjet for a press proof. I
have a customer who has a epson photo R1800. Presently he is printing to it
using the supplied epson driver.
Is the driver combined with the premium profiles from epson sufficient to
achieve a decent printed proof. A decent printed proof to me is one that
approximates a source device (such as AdobeSWOPv2) with a average delta e
(cielab) of less than 5. He is using a mac and printing from a combination
of quark and CS.
If not is there a rip for less than $600 that will allow for greater color
control and result in a "decent proof"?
