Realize that neither the white nor black points on the GMB chart are
neutral, so you'll have to adjust the curves for each colour to match
the readings on your specific GMB chart. If you haven't already, take
the readings using a spectro for whatever illuminant you're using
(assume D50) and colour space you're using (Adobe RGB, ColorMatch,
etc.) Readings will vary depending on which illuminant and colour
space you're assuming.
I have one general question, and that is what are the most
important steps I can take to improve my profile?
Ditch the back profiling software, as all the research I've done
merely suggests that your starting point will be different than a non-
profiled back. Too many issues at play to accurately profile a back.
Does Phase has a repro mode? I use the Hassey backs and the FlexColor
software allows me to go into repro mode which generates an
incredibly accurate tone-to-tone image that only needs minor tweaking
in PS.
