And while we are at it, how about decimal places in the info palette and
color palette, so that 16 bit mode is truly useful?

FWIW, the info palette can be set to show 16 or 32 bit values. In CS2 click and hold on an eyedropper and select the desired bit depth. In earlier versions got the palette options from the fly-off menu to switch between 8 and 16 bit values.
