You see, if we consider proofing then, "profile" linearizing on top of a RIP
linearization may not mean much. At least, that's my current thinking. But
maybe I'd need to re-consider my position. But if we consider profiling a
print process then "profile" linearizing seems like a tough sell. Imagine
telling a client that they need a preliminary test run just for the purpose
of allowing ProfileMakerPro or Monaco or some other CMS packages to create a
base linearisation to be incorporated into the print process profile? I
don't see this one especially if you consider that most print shops already
go through some thorough calibration to comply with some standards.

In principle, I think it's a worthwhile exercice.

Ah! You said the magic word "accurate". I never tested this myself so I
can't really say. Can it be said that it actually provides more accurate
results?

Yes.
