I think you'd be starting down a difficult path to try this. You might
want to begin by reading the thesis that Graeme Gill posted a link to
in his last message. The summary is that Mark Shaw determined that
observer metamerism is much greater than any changes in the CMFs can
fix and thus they are as good as they can be. Let's face it, color
science is full of inexact averages and compromises. Isn't that what
makes is so much fun? ;-)
