Thank's Armand. That's interesting.
I did not read that the author was seeking to characterize medical displays
for the purpose of developping the kinds of color profiles discussed on this
list but the his discussion on various display metrics such as color
uniformity was appreciated.
The MAS40 spectrometer being used in this report is comparable in
performance to OceanOptics-type of spectrometers, with a respectable 2.5nm
spectral resolution. I expect this instrument not to have any problem
resolving the fine lines of LCD spectrums. What's different about this setup
is that the author reports having developped an optical probe capable of
realizing the cone of light required to measure spectral radiance! Such a
probe, in my view, is sorely missing from OceanOptics's catalog. I think
I'll send the author an email to discuss its "upcoming" probe...
Thank's Armand,
