Any suggestions as to more robust methods?

I had a similar problem recently - using a D200 with a circular fluorescent tube and then switching to flash without remembering to change the white balance :-(

Adobe's Lightroom beta allowed me to dial in new white balance settings (both temperature and tint) and the Camera calibration and Color Adjustments settings enabled me to achieve a useable result.

Aperture is also capable of treating RGB as if it were *almost* RAW. Both should give better results than Photoshop and the settings can be saved and then applied to any number of images.
