Hi Armand,
EyeOne Match 3.6.1 has some nice push button calibration CRT
monitors. This version contains codes from Sequel Imaging's ProColor
(remember that anyone?). With supported CRT monitors it now does full
ddc/ci based calibration without using special VGA USB dongle (e-cable).
If anyone is looking to get better calibration out of your old /
dusty (once expensive) CRT monitors, your monitor maybe resurrected
using EyeOne Match. Based on experience, NEC 2151SB, and HP p1230
(OEM version of NEC) can calibrate to perform as good (if not better)
compared to Sony Artisan monitors.

I have finally decided to update my display calibration "stuff". I
am running a mix of OSX 10.3.9 and 10.4.8 on about 6 machines (mix
of desktops and laptops, G4's and Intels -- no G5's though).
I have an EyeOne Pro instrument (not the current version -- I
bought it exactly 2 years ago: does that make it "Rev. A"??) and I
would like to continue using it if possible.
My software choices (what I currently have) are:
EyeOne Match v. 2
ColorEyes v. 3.0
basICColor Display v. 2.5.4
It *seems* I can just download EyeOne Match v. 3.6.1 and just keep
going with my instrument -- this appears to be my least expensive
option (FREE??) If so, is this an inferior option in any way? Are
there any known issues with using the Macs or OSX versions
mentioned above with Match 3.6.1?
I haven't found much in the way of upgrade info on my other 2
choices (ColorEyes and basICColor). Is there any reason to dig
deeper here? (Please do not post advertisements...)
Thank you,
Armand
