Hi Roger,
time to move to good old Europe, here the LEDs come bundled with
SpectraView Profiler (version 4.0.3. at the moment, soon to be
updated to 4.1) which looks very (very) similar to basICColor display
4 ;-)
BTW: The 4.1. versions will have another nice feature besides the
CIECAM02 calibration that Jon Meyer mentioned: An interface to the
JUST Color Communicator 2 viewing booth (to be seen at Graph Expo),
that lets adjust the box exactly to the viewing conditions of the
monitor or alternatively the ISO standard viewing conditions for
proofs (2000 lx). The viewing booth comes bundled with adJUST Monitor
Calibration (again, similar tyou o basICColor display 4), which
controls the process. You first calibrate your monitor so that the
software knows the luminance, then you shift the colorimeter over to
the viewing booth and get it adjusted automatically.
And, please don´t confuse ColorEyes and basICColor display – two
completely different animals!

Karl Koch

Because ColorNavigator sucks and basICcolor Display (and ColorEyes
Display)
are superlative monitor calibration software. That's enough of a
reason in
my book. Well worth the meager $100-$200 they want for it. Get
this: the
super top-of-the-line NEC LED WG that retails for $7,000 to $8,000
does not
even come bundled with its own calibration software. One has to
purchase it
separately. <give me a break, please> At least Eizo has the decency of
shipping *a* calibration software with the monitor. But, in my
experience
(I've become somewhat of an expert at doing this, over the months,
years and
long agonizing hours of frustration and countless iterations I've
done this,
with all kinds of colorimeters, spectrophotometers and various
software
packages), ColorNavigator still has a lot of catching up to do.
My two cents,
Simon,
Just ordered my CG210 (they are getting a lot cheaper now that the
211 is on
the horizon). So why do you want to use BasicColor when the
monitor comes
with its own dedicated ColorNavigator calibration and profiling
software?
Just curious.
Bob Frost.
