I am seeing a similar problem on an Epson R800. It was excellent a year ago right out of the box with factory profiles. Custom made profile were only a little better. Now I can't get the thing to respond to custom or factory profiles. Glossy & Lustre papers are worse than matte papers. I'm on OS 10.4.8 it's the same results I got with 10.4.7. I'm tempted to try OS 9 to see if it's better.
