Roger,
I am remembering that the 3400C had an internal modem. If fax
software, such as FaxSTF, is on the machine, the extension it
installs in the Extensions folder could be the culprit, 'taking over'
the port.

I'm running Colorshop 2.6.2 under MacOS 8.6. Works great. But when

have the

calls the
9-pin DIN socket serial port.
This combination works great on a 7600/120 but not on this
PowerBook :(
Could it be the serial port hardware on this PB3400C is busted?
