Given that the EyeOne reads from 380 to 730 nm (at least according to the
range of values listed in measurement files produced by MeasureTool in
spectral mode), is that a way to say that OB software adjustments made in
ProfileMaker from measurements taken with it are doomed to failure, or at
least to come short of the target?

I have no idea about GMB ProfileMaker, since I don't know how it does its OB adjustment.

The technique I described in my paper, and implemented in Argyll
is handicapped in practice by the lack of easily obtaining
illuminant UV information. There are no problems though in
measuring the media, since the FWA response is within the
normal visible range of 380 to 730nm, and the media is the thing
that needs measurement most frequently.
