Thanks for the tip. Luminous Landscapes had an excellent review of Coloreyes software.
Michael Reichman really liked it. IMO Spyder 2 is only O.K. I'll definitely try the Coloreyes free download and see what it does.

A reliable way to solve Spyder problems, I have found with my clients,
is not to use Spyder. I believe that the company which makes
Coloreyes has some software which will drive the hardware, and thereby
allow you to escape from the Spyder software. A fully functional demo
that generates profiles can be downloaded from their site. They also
offer tech support.
