>>"Russell Proulx" <email@hidden>: I've just been pointed to an Adobe "printing with an Epson Stylus printer" Technote (posted April 15, 2007) that
recommends: "Under Color Handling, select Printer Manages Color" when printing to an Epson 2200. Does the Epson print driver allow one to select a print profile from within printer's setup menu? I can't seem to find such an option. Technote link: http://tinyurl.com/yo3aw6
This is really interesting...and although I'm still using Photoshop7 after reading Graeme Gill's post (thanks Graeme!), I decided to see if it will work with my W2k system and my Epson 4000.
Control Panel > Printers > Properties > Color Management: I have the option set to "Manual" (and many moons ago, I had deleted any profiles that were listed) and I decided to add 2 of my custom profiles to see what would happen in my Epson 4000 printer driver.
I opened a file in Photoshop (7) and File > Page Setup selected my 4000 > Properties and clicked on "Advanced" and then chose ICM and whaddayaknow!!! my 2 custom profiles are listed in the dropdown box!
I won't have time to do a test print until tomorrow but I'll report back when I do--I have one image with a lot of black that I've never been happy with the outupt using my standard approach of letting Photoshop handle the CM and using NCM on the Epson 4000 side and this is what I'll test print...I've been very happy with the results of this particular custom profile for all my other work...
