Just got word Epson's released Leopard-compatible beta drivers for
several Pro printers:

Which in turn disappointed me as I'm running a venerable Epson Stylus
Pro 4000, the advanced options for which haven't been available in the
drivers for some time.
Turns out there's a new Leopard-compatible driver from Epson for that
printer also, as of December 3rd:

If you've been waiting for new drivers for older printers, best check
for new drivers as you might get lucky.
Question:
My 4000 is networked thru a G4 Mac server & even with the new driver
the advanced options aren't available in the Print dialogue, as for
direct-attached (i.e. Firewire, like my Stylus Photo R800) Epson
printers.
This is because it's not direct-connected, right? When it was
connected via Firewire (long before Leopard or Adobe CS3) I could
select paper setting for the various Epson media. That's no longer
possible.
I did just discover though that after downloading and installing the
new 4000 Leopard driver, in the Print & Fax Preferences box I can
choose either of two Epson printer instances, one using an Epson SPro
4000 (1,1) driver where the other uses an Epson Stylus Pro Series, 1.3
driver.
What's new to me is the 1.3 driver has a CMYK-only color mode under
Printer Features (in the Printer Set-up window) with 180/360/720 dpi
resolution settings that I've never seen before.
