Comparing a CG line Eizo to any Cinema screen is like a Ferrari to a Chevy. Not in the same

Nice point!
It's nice to be able to brag about having a bad-ass display (I too have many worth bragging about) but if you put a really well calibrated (and this is the key) Cinema Display or even the latest $1100 Dell 30" next to an Artisan and the three high end LCDs the differences aren't as great as you might expect from all the hype, boasting and price differences. I've set up this type of demonstration for my clients on many occasions and really good calibration is the key. No doubt the high end LCD's are gorgeous but a lot of people are probably better off buying a more modestly priced display and spending what's leftover on the other pieces of the puzzle like quality lighting, an excellent display calibration package, training, and work environment changes. And of course there are new display technologies in the works that will significantly improve upon a number of todays limitations, so this has to be considered as well.
I'm sure I'm going to get reamed for this unpopular viewpoint but I'd rather have a really well CEDP or BasICColor calibrated Cinema Display in a well crafted work environment than a poorly calibrated high end LCD in a poor environment. Hmm, this sounds like what I used to say 15 years ago: "I'd rather have a really knowledgeable and experienced scanner operator on with flatbed than a dunce running a drum scanner."
