If I have to go through one more iO, I'm going to ask X-Rite to provide an
iSis instead. As it stands, like Derek Cooper noted I nhis post, I can't
change the arm's elevation -- the $#%@ dial is completely stuck. This is the
second unit I have. There are still issues with communication (missed the
RS-232 days...) all the time but it's working OK. I'm more concerned with
the repeatability of the EyeOne itself now? I recently read 31 charts,
manually, with the help of ColorPort, one patch at a time (15 / chart). Yes,
it took me a while to read the charts but it was work well worth it. Problem
is, as I was inspecting the measurements after, in Excel, I noticed more
than a few charts whose readings were inconsistent. I had to re-read some of
the 31 charts over, like 6 or 7, in order to "improve" the measurements
right -- thank god, I have other instruments to verify the quality of the
data. But that's more work than anyone would want to do, on any projects.
Where did the inconsistent behavior came from, I have no idea. But it bugs
me.
