I have been getting very strange results from the standard workflow
of NCM in Photoshop. and None under the Color Options section of the
drop down.
The patches on a TC9.18 print out very light and produce a very
strangely shaped profile, with a very reduced gamut.
I am also seeing that selecting anything other than let printer
control colors in Photoshop forces the none setting in the Color
Options section, Colorsync, and Driver Matching are grayed out.
Has anyone profiled this printer successfully yet from a Mac? I am
having a very difficult time getting any kind of good print from this
printer.

DANA,
WE HAVE AN IPF 5000 + 8000 + 9000, AND HAVE BEEN MAKING REMARKABLE
PRINTS RIGHT FROM THE DRIVER
WITH A MAC, PRINTING STRAIGHT OUT OF PHOTOSHOP CS2. YOU NEED TO USE AN
ADOBE98 RGB TIFF FILE TO SEND
TO THE PRINTER....THIS IS WHAT THE DRIVER WANTS. IF YOU DO THAT YOU
WILL BE AMAZED AT HOW WELL IT
WORKS AND HOW LITTLE EFFORT IT TAKES TO GET GREAT RESULTS. WE ARE ALSO
TESTING OUT 3 RIPS FOR THESE
MACHINES THAT WILL OFFER MORE OPTIONS TO TUNE THINGS. IF YOU TRY THE
ABOVE AND ARE STILL HAVING
PROBLEMS I SUGGEST CALLING CANON AND MAKE SURE THERE IS NOT A HARDWARE
PROBLEM. ALSO, YOU BE
RUNNING THE NEWEST DRIVER V3.5, WHICH IS PROBABLY NOT WHAT CAME WITH
IT....DOWNLOAD FROM CANON'S
SITE, OR THEY WILL SEND A YOU A CD IF YOU ASK.
CHEERS,
ROBERT BULLIVANT
