I would've said the same thing - not likely an Epson ink issue -
until I saw several bad cyan cartridges get to customers a couple of
years ago. It happened with at least one 10600 (Boston) and two 9600s
(Iowa) that I had direct dealings with. The cyan in question was
almost purple and too dark. I wouldn't rule out environmental issues
either in shipping or how the inks were stored/warehoused but they
were definitely bad. Took a couple of 30x40" solid blocks of 100%
cyan to flush out the bad and get the new ink to the heads.
