A friend's 7200 has died and he's looking to replace it. How do the new
Canon and HP's compare to the Epsons right now? Looking back through
previous posts, Scott Martin said "Epson will replace the 7800 and 9800
for new printers incorporating the 3800's improvements". It doesn't
seem like it's the best time to buy a 7800.
What Scott said, brings a question to mind. What is the difference
between the 3800 and the other Epson printers? I have a 3800 delivering
tomorrow, but I just thought that it was a stripped down 4800. What's new?
Another question... The price I paid CDW is $1,221, which is about
street price on the basic 3800. However, they list it as the 3800 Pro
with the ColorBurst RIP <http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?
EDC=1054111> and my rep confirms it. Hellofadeal, since I figure that
that's about $200 less than I expected. But what should I expect of the
ColorBurst RIP? I have heard that it only works with Epson papers, and
that it can't be profiled. True?
