But there was processing and here's where you probably got the differences.
What's happening in the ACR pipeline is the data is converted to a linear
encoded space using the ProPhoto RGB primaries then back to sRGB if that's
the encoding color space you selected. At least I suspect that the data was
altered due to this conversion process.
IOW, you tried to do nothing but I suspect a conversion still took place
even without any "editing".
This is the same in Lightroom. Any rendered image will undergo a conversion
from native color space to linear ProPhoto for any editing whatsoever.

Pretty sure it's just JPEGs but could be wrong as Lightroom can of course
handle this kind of file and the pipeline is the same.
