Hi Stretch -
I just do Photo, RGB, on small inkjets.
I find the epxeriences with PS Preview depend on whether you are doing
retouching or color correction prior to printing.
When correcting (reworking a file for a specific printer/paper/effect
) you just need a good prediction of what the image will look like,
the screen is just a temporary preview, a momentary tool. What it
"feels" like doesn't matter.
When retouching you live with the same image on the screen for 30
hours at a stretch. The screen takes over your life. If the screen
"feels" wrong you get very unhappy.
The PS Preview feels bad - it's an unconvincing simulation. It doesn't
feel like the file but it doesn't feel like paper either. This may
explain why Vanita's retouchers feel so strongly that they want their
screens re-adjusted.

Hi Edmund,
Isn't the point to not make it look good but instead to reflect what
your output will look like so you can take whatever steps possible to
make it look as good as possible once it's printed.
