I suppose this is primitive, but you could also enlarge the photo to screen size, unclick "resize frame [or whatever it is] when resizing" in Photoshop, shrink the photo to smaller, thus leaving a grey area around it, and put some tape around the outside edges of the monitor to cover the white border. Not sure how neutral the grey is, but anything's better than that white.
(Adobe needs to get with Apple and fix this flaw.)
