Look, I'm not an Adobe person, I don't work for them, I don't have their
stocks. All I have is their software. And I have no wish to cause a
s**tstorm. So please hear me out.
I see a tendency here to jump the gun and lash out at Adobe. First we should
try to *talk* to them, in a normal tone of voice, and tell them what bothers
us. Let's remember all the *good* things they have done, besides the bad
ones, and exercise some tact.
When a company gets as big as Adobe has become, don't you figure it's
inevitable that they will lose touch with their user base, on occasion?
I have seen no evidence so far of malicious conduct on Adobe's part (as in
something like: "Yea, you have a problem? Tough luck buddy, Har har har.").
Have you?
Here is a quote from CEO Bruce Chizen in response to criticism of the
Acrobat/FedEx/Kinko's decision:
"I have received numerous e-mails pointing out what a poor decision we made.
Clearly a mistake and we are sorry for that. We are currently looking for a
solution that works within the constraints of our contractual commitment
with Kinko¹s."

That hardly sounds to me like either arrogance or a diversion tactic. One
wishes that other corporations (don't get me started...) would own up to
their mistakes this openly and willingly.
And you're free to call me naïve and deluded, but you'll have to prove that,
not just say it.
