There is a valid point to be made in that technical papers like this
reinforce the perception of the position of a company like Adobe. It's a
good way to 'steer' consumers towards their products by offering unbiased
comment...and unbiased it is, there's nothing in there that shouts
"Adobe!"....the trouble is there's not much new in there either.
It's a 'round-up' of knowledge presented in an easy-listening manner which
is great for those that are starting on that particular journey, but all the
professional digital photographers I know have been embroiled in a RAW
workflow for some time. I think Karl's written a fine piece, but it's not
aimed at the professional and as such is more likely to attract new punters
to the Adobe range of products for the reason I stated at the beginning.
