The proponents of custom profiles would say they will match. Or
they will
tell you to build a suite of input profiles (oh boy, what fun).
This is just one reason why treating a digital camera like a
scanner, with
respect to profiling is problematic. If the camera is used in a fixed
condition, then a profile can work quite well. Few users are
operating this
way. And we are not even discussing how the viewer will see the final
printed piece.
