I understand from the few presentations I attended on DE2000 at various CIE
meetings is that the dataset was an amalgamation of three of four
internationally known key industrial paired-comparison existing datasets
from Dupont and Leeds. Personnally, I felt it was a way to go beyond CIE94
and an effort to reconcile with CMC.
