I just got one of the smaller iSis unit and was a bit baffled by the way it
operates. I thought it was a bit slow. The business about reading each row
twice cannot be disabled (with or without UV, in both ColorPort and
MeasureTool -- I think it's in the driver).
For profiling and calibrating inkjet printers, I think it is fine. It's a
bit trying about exact target width, though.
As for feeding thin paper, like 40lb coated paper, I find it can easily
misfeeds (a little frustrating).
For sheetfeds press profiling, it's OK. But no so for webs. I find the
"native" iSis target sizes a little on the oversize as compared with IT8.7/4
formatted for the DTP-70 and the Spectroscan.
I'm aware that there are versions of the IT8.7/4 Random target that can be
either read with the DTP-70 and iSis but, so far, I have not been successul
in reading those with the smaller iSis I have, either out of ColorPort or
MeasureTool.
So, for my purpose, it's equivocal.
