CMYK profiles... CS2 vs. CS3

I received a CMYK profile from my printer shop
It works fine in Photoshop CS2 when I convert from RGB to CMYK or when I soft proof,
but the same profile used in the same manner in photoshop CS3, with the same color settings and the same files, gives totally differrent results!
I mean totally...
I cannot figure out why
Could it be that the profile is version 2.0.0 ?

Carlo
