If you look behind the scenes there is actually a lot of color management going on in motion pictures at the moment, particularly with the switch to digital capture and display, and the need to mix old and new together. There is an ICC Digital Motion Picture Working Group for instance, and many companies in the industry have internal groups responsible for their color workflow, but it's often done uniquely within each group, and the move to public standards will take some time. The CGI folks in particular have had to sort out internal processes to manage color many years ago (I know this from some first hand experience), but most of the media the final product is delivered to consumers on (like video) doesn't need color management as it uses the "closed system" color approach.
