iOne to Density calculation

Greeting to All.

I am not sure this is the right place to ask my
question but I am at least hoping that someone can
point me in the right direction.

How can I convert readings taken with my iOne
Spectrophotometer into approximate density values? I
know that
this would not be absolutely accurate and could not
be
used for direct comparison to a densitometer. I am
looking for the ability to use them as a reference to
themselves on proof sheets that we are making for
 color correction purposes.

Consistancy from sheet to sheet, day to day etc.

At one time I had a formula that I had gotten from
Gretag MacBeth but can't find it.

 What say ye?

 Thanks for any help here
 Oakley
