Safari for Windows
Hi folks
Not sure about Windows, but Safari 3 Beta for Mac OsX looks a bit
unsteady at present, if you look at MacFixit http://www.macfixit.com
A friend of mine was seriously considering switching from PC to Mac.
Yesterday he installed Safari with Quicktime Beta 3 for Windows. It
crashed his complete system (haven't had the chance to ask what
happend exactly) and yesterday evening he told us that he was looking
forward to have a bit of Mac feeling on his PC, but now he has enough
of the Mac experience and will stick with Windows...
So it seems like a good suggestion to wait for the next beta or the
final release for Safari Win too ;-)
Best regards
Peter
Enough of the "Mac" experience? I just wanted to point out the
irony here. Safari for Mac works like a dream. If he was actually
using it on a Mac, instead of having a typical Windows experience
(crashing software. Ok, it's not necessarily typical, but happens
more often in Windows than in OSX, from my experience), then he could
say that it was the Mac's fault. I can't see how using beta software
on a PC is anything but the fault of the user. Anyway, I use both
systems a lot, and Windows can be just as stable as OSX, as long as
your hardware is good and you don't mess around installing beta
software at every opportunity! Wait for the final release.
