The budget, I would guess, is limited by prudence, not resources. He
could go with wall-to-wall Eizo's, with no problem. That's why I asked
for suggestions in the high to medium-high range.
He currently has one of the older, big Cinemas (clear plastic), which
would be what?... a 22" or 23" screen. He likes the idea of a bigger
screen - that's what he's used to - rather than a dual display setup.
When he mentioned replacing his display, he was thinking about another
Apple, probably the 30". If he bought an Eizo, the CG241W would
probably be the one, although I seem to remember that the 24" did not
compare favorably with the smaller CG221.
LaCie makes the hardware calibrated 526, and there are probably many
other good choices out there. It seems, from looking at the plastic
surrounds & stands, that Eizo, LaCie, HP, NEC, etc. all come from the
same place.
