So, my intuition was rifght, all LEDs are not created equal. I thought,
naively, that all LEDs were using the same technology as the Phillips
LumiLEDs, the ones used in the high end Mitsubishi.

I didn't have the impression that the Samsung XL monitors were using a
"composite" type of LED?
