It was a very nice unit I was sad to see go although it could use some Apple
Industrial Design to make it look decent (it was butt ugly). I would also
like to see it be able to alter its output chromaticity so we could switch
to an "sRGB behaving device" or wide gamut. I also wanted to see control
over contrast ratio like my Artisan and I think NEC did finally do something
about this in their host software.
Now that I look at the spec's provided about the Samsung, I'm thinking it is
NOT using three colored LED's (I can't find that specified anywhere). It is
a wide gamut display. I am now suspecting its a single colored LEDs but
that's moot unless somehow it actually shipped.
The do mention that the unit doesn't have mercury which is something to
consider (especially with folks like WalMart trying to get everyone on the
planet to use Fluorescent bulbs). That's a lot of nasty stuff that has to
end up in large part in landfills. Ouch!
