As a matter of fact, I have recently tried basICColor Display, but not for
this purpose. I have been unable to achieve a good profile with it (Eizo
CG210 and i1Pro). Apparently something with that combo has broken in the new
version. Is anyone else using this combination with basIICColor Display v4?

In any case, I don't think the CIECAM02 options for the display will truly
address the problem still. I have received a number of replies off-list,
many of which have some interesting ideas to pursue.

When I come up with a good solution, I'll report back here...
