Hi All,
This is very unofficial indeed! In fact, it is also the first time I have
heard about it. Both MonacoPROFILER and ProfileMaker are capable ICC
solutions with unique capabilities and both will continue to be sold and
supported worldwide. Of course there are expectations for new solutions. Of
course X-Rite looks forward to delivering the next evolution in color
management technology. However, X-rite has made no official (or unofficial)
announcement regarding new product, and continues to stand behind the potent
technology offered by our current color management solutions.
Also, do not be confused by the departure of the recent measurement devices
from X-Rite. We continue support our legacy solutions and we feel that we
have put forward our best technology. The replacement of these solutions was
primarily an effort designed to synchronize the quality of measurement
across our array of instruments. While these legacy technologies were
extremely capable on their own, the i1 family of solutions was the clear
choice due to its uniform sensing technology, its widely successful install
base, and its portability into new applications such as the HP Z-series
printers.
Our customers have made it clear that all of our solutions must agree and
taking the direction of a "solution family" is our first step in making that
happen.
Thank you all for your attention to color,
Marc
