Hi Rich.

Olaf, how would you go about using PDFfixups to perform an ICC color transform using the Perceptual rendering intent?

you would have to set the rendering intent first, using the Set Rendering Intent fixup

I'm playing with it, but I can only get the PDFfixup to convert RGB elements (I'm going into CMYK), and I can only get a RelCol rendering. What conditions am I not meeting?

in the setup for the Color Conversion fixup you ave two tabs;
- the "Destination" tab is for setting up the default source profiles (for device process color objects should they have to be converted), some conversion strategy settings (for example black point compensation) and the destination
- the "Conversion settings" tab is for defining which objects to convert, and how to convert them; IMPORTANT: you can have more than one subsetting in this tab - just click on the plus sign in the right of this tab, and anither setting will be there to be configured;, for example you could decide to convert all images which are calibrated (i.e. have a profile associated with them n the PDF), and then uncalibrated images (i.e. they are device RGB, and the conversion would use the default RGB profile as the 'assumed' source profile), and you could add yet another setting to decalibrate all calibrated CMYK objects (i.e. discard the source CMYK profile(s)).

Also tried a fixup that changes the RI to Perceptual, then tried both Convert Colors and a PDFfixup. Couldn't get it to work that way either. Is there some more thorough documentation somewhere?

you have to make the necessary fixups a part of a Preflight profile, and then running the profile will apply the fixups in it.

Does that make any sense?

Olaf
