Not unless there is such a thing as "designer DNA", since otherwise
there is no creative input, it's just a functional, random process.

Of course patents are already being applied to processes involving
DNA, and it's not too far a stretch to imagine some company will
want to apply copyright at some stage too.
Whether it's a good thing or not is another question, but
it's easy to find unexpected outcomes when trying to follow human
made rules.
