OK, I know this is wrong, but I'm bent on it anyways.
I need to get a monitor for my Mac that is capable of being
color-calibrated (my existing monitor is old and grey). I need to
color-correct some photos for a book. I'm an amateur, but needing to do
this myself because there is no color reference object to give to a pro to
correct from and all the photos are different from each other.
I went and looked at the LCD Cinema Displays at the Apple Store, and
they're lovely, but I would still prefer a CRT, because the brightness
never shifts with the viewing angle, no matter how much you slouch in your
chair. I know they're deeper and heavier, and I don't care. But I hear
from many people that no one makes good CRTs anymore. I'm not familiar
with either the old or the new CRTs.
Are there any good CRTs still available? If so, who makes them?
I am looking at a price range roughly like that of the Cinema displays...
depending on how horribly expensive it turns out to be. I don't need a
huge screen (17" is fine), but I do need reliable color.
thanks....
