Hi Edmond,
I did a profile for my Canon 30D for use with Raw Developer. I made just
one profile using Phtoflood lights and CC SG and I measured the spectral
curve of the light. I made this profile using PM 5.0 and it is useful
for other lights, too. I planned to measure the spectral values in the
target but I didn't try it. In the last minute I forgot the idea,
believing that PM 5.0 wouldn't accept spectral values to build a camera
profile, but I didn't test it at all.. I used the spot color feature
from PM 5.0. This feature allows you to define spot colors spectral
data, but there's no input for the correspondent RGB values! (don't know
why!). I measured some patches (there's a limitation to 4 or 6 spot
colors, if I'm not wrong) and the profile improved a little bit (better
visual match to the target).
Best regards,
Lorenzo

Hi -
I have been making general-use camera profiles for use with C1. The
profiles are useful. I'm thinking of doing even better.
In order to improve my profiles, I'm thinking of going to the extent
of measuring my Colorchecker SG.
Which brings me to the further idea of measuring the illuminant used
for capturing the target, and employing the spectral values of both
illuminant and target to recalculate the LAB inputs to the profiling
package. Which otherwise would, I guess get the D50 LAB values output
by the spectro software (i1) written into the ref file.
Don't be shy - tell me why my idea is stupid or more trouble than it's
worth.
Edmund
