CRT monitors cont.

Has anyone else noticed that if you have several otherwise-identical LCD screens, such as those I checked out at the local Apple Store, that the angle shift in brightness seems much more pronounced with the smaller screens?

I looked at the 17" iMac (9" high), and the 20" Cinema Display (10.75" high.) With the 17", moving my head up and down a few inches changed the brightness enough to confuse me. With the 20", the shift seemed less. I didn't look at any bigger ones, like the 23". I was told that the new iMac and the ACDs all use the same technology.

Am I imagining this? Can it be that the same screen material shows less shift if there is more surface area of it? I wanted to test this by putting a cardboard mask over the different screens, but didn't have one at hand.
