Hi Jim,
I haven't seen Apple 20" Cinema Displays last longer than 30 months or so
for serious color work. Many of the aluminum bezel 20" displays I bought
developed serious color blotchyness and uniformity problems over time. The
more advanced displays like the Eizo's last much longer for productive work
as long as you don't pump the luminance too high. The brand new Apple LCDs
that are next to arrive should take it to a higher level. I understand that
they will be pushing 300 nits.
Anyway, 4 years is impressive. You should consider yourself fortunate and
start budgeting for a new one.
