Re. the sticker shock issue, I think it might be smart marketing for
Xrite to offer some sort of trade-in rebate to DTP41 owners. That's my
bloggish contribution of the week :)
Re. hardware you have the choice between the Xrite iSis which is a
new auto chartreader, pricey but reasonably fast, easy to use,
hasslefree, and the iO which is the handheld instrument on a robot
arm, also fast, and maybe just slightly less adapted to a production
environment, in my personal opinion, although it has some obvious
advantages (can read thick substrates, instrument can be swapped out).
The DTP70 chartreader was very good, but is now deprecated as a
previous poster indicated.
