Mike, of course you are right. It's dE94. I overlooked the dE 94 note
at the top. I shouldn't post messages shortly before going to bed ;-)
But it doesn't really change anything. If dE or dE94, the
ProfileMaker profile is too dark (at least in lprofs profilechecker).
Seems like something is wrong with the profile and not the scanner or
target. Maybe the profile is using some kind of perceptual intent
that goes wrong... I haven't checked for that. At least the lprof
profile absolut render intent values seem excellent. If it still
appears too dark, than I would look at the output profile and viewing
conditions as cause for the fault....
Giordana, could you please check, whether "Optimize image preview in
Photoshop" exists in the Profilemaker preferences menu and turn it
off and retry.
Marco: the problem with the profile doesn't seem to be caused by the
IT8 target nor are the reproduction faults (~ dE 0.4) listed by Kodak
for each patch big enough in order to reflect such a visible fault.
Beside: Kodak is currently the only manufacturer I know meeting the
IT8 standard not selling individually measured 4x5" IT8s while others
shipp them by default.
