Let's see how long it takes for XRite to come up with profiling apps that

ProfileMaker in spectral mode. Or that perhaps offer the user an option to
use non-UV-cut devices. Or would that be too reasonable? :-)
Using my technique of FWA correction (with a UV included instrument of course!),
together with a D50 spectrum that has had some or all of it's UV removed,
seems to result in something that resembles a UV cut instrument:
Spectrolino and cheap office type paper:
Including UV L*a*b*: 92.416444 2.546561 -8.486250
UV cut L*a*b*: 92.594712 1.216923 -4.074317
UV Included + FWA comp.
& 15% D50 UV, L*a*b*: 92.391628 1.263417 -4.087229
Including UV + FWA comp.
& 0% D50 UV L*a*b*: 92.380380 0.936233 -2.888876
hinting that perhaps this approach is even more effective than
a UV filter at removing FWA UV response.
[ FWA correction characterizes the FWA response of the paper, and then
estimates the spectral response to a different level of illuminant UV
to that used by the instrument in measuring it.]
