Hello Edmund!
Logo ColorLab can do both tricks without any problems. You can download it
for free on GretagMacbeth's website.
To create Lab-TIFF from CGATS file just open it and say "Export as TIFF".
To create CGATS file from Lab (or CMYK, or RGB) TIFF file open it, go to
"Layout and format/Spotcolor" and set the correct row/columns number. Then
save the CGATS file.
PS: By the way, there is very usefull profile-to-profile convertion option
in ColorLab, so if you want just to test your profile quality then you don't
need Photoshop.
