Is there any difference between the Eizo L997 and the CG210 if they

From EIzo's FAQ:
Q. What are the differences between ColorEdge monitors and FlexScan
monitors?
A.ColorEdge monitors offer the following advantages:
-Hardware calibration directly controls hardware (10-bit lookup
table (LUT)) by using ColorNavigator.
-Excellent grayscale properties realized by our factory adjustment
conducted for each monitor measuring the R, G, and B gamma values
from 0 to 255.
I'm not familiar with Basicolor, but I'm assuming it isn't capable of
hardware (DDC) calibration? If that's the case, I would be curious
what REAL difference there is between these monitors as well. Their
specs are completely identical, and the above FAQ is the only thing I
could find anywhere about why you would pay $1000 more for one vs.
the other. Anyone?
