I looked at Bill Atkinson charts and noticed that he does not use
full integer values even for CMYK profiles. Is there an advantage not
to use full integer values but 8-bit values in charts?
Does anyone did any tests with both?

Small patch sets -eg the standard 343 Xrite target- yield very smooth
profiles with decent shadow detail.
That's got far more to do with the color engine than the number
of patches!
