hello list members,

i rarely submit questions to the group but i have a bit of monitor conundrum
at the photo studio where i handle the color management . . .

we use two monitors on each set. We have them set-up as "mirrored" so that
the digital tech (myself) and the art director can both see the same images
loading into capture one. unfortunately, the CPU only has ONE video card.

so, in order to profile them, i separate the monitors out of their
"mirrored" preference, calibrate each one individually by changing the lead
monitor in the "arrangement" preference, and finally return back to the
mirrored state when i'm finished. it is rare that the monitors match
dead-on. i can get them close but never exact and it's a constant source of
frustration.

i have been trying to convince the powers above me that we need a second
video card for the mac hard drive since each video card can only contain one
LUT at a time. it is my understanding that this would help the problem. does
anyone have any practical or theoretical advice that may help me do the
convincing?

thanks in advance,
kerry
